We’re a small collective. We’ve noticed a lot of ignorance about trans people, in our academic discipline (philosophy) and in the world at large. We’re tired of answering the same questions and comments over and over, so we thought it would be best to collect our answers all in one place. We hope to build a database of brief replies that link to longer and more thorough discussions.
We’ve been inspired by the Finally, A Feminism 101 Blog, but this isn’t exactly the same kind of project. The Feminism 101 Blog had a large team of moderators, who were equipped to deal with comments. We’re a smaller team, so right now, we’re not open to comments.
This entire blog is the work of a small handful of contributors, overseen by one person. We’ve chosen to remain anonymous to avoid professional backlash. We will do our best to be comprehensive and even-handed, but we are human beings who might get things wrong sometimes. No one and nothing is truly neutral, but we’ll do our best to be fair.
